Omega Seamaster SMf300 Diver 198.0005 Rare 120m Dial 1972 Vintage. An original and well cared for Omega SMf300 Diver that has a rare 120m/400ft Dial. In 1972 Omega introduced the f300Hz range of watches which used “cutting edge” technology to modernise the old fashioned mechanical movements! According to “deskdivers” excellent review of these watches this particular example is the “Big Daddy” and the most desirable of the f300 range. Measuring at 42mm it was a very big watch 50 odd years ago and compares favorably with modern sizes. The watch was last serviced, by a well known electric watch repairer, 3 years ago when a new date wheel and other minor parts were replaced. A new battery is about due, I will supply a new Renata 344 battery with the watch. OMEGA Model – Seamaster SMf300 Diver. OMEGA Movement – Calibre 1250. OMEGA Case – Stainless Steel, 42mm. OMEGA Case Back – Stainless Steel, Screwback. OMEGA Dial – Silver, 120m/400ft. OMEGA Hands – Black Baton Shaped, Red Seconds. OMEGA Bracelet – Stainless Steel, Tri-Fold Clasp. OMEGA Crown – Screw Down. OMEGA Crystal – Mineral Glass. The case is in very good vintage condition and still retains the original factory brushed and polished finishes – the edges are nice and sharp. The acrylic filled bi-directional bezel is in excellent condition. The dial has age related marks and some bubbling which is understandable for a 51 year old watch.
