Vintage omega geneve mens watch. Beautiful gold plated Omega dress watch from the mid 1970’s. Original Dial, hands, in good condition. Crown is a good quality replacement. Genuine crocodile Omega branded band in new condition. Diameter 33.5 mm (Minus crown). Lug length 38 mm. Thickness 8.5 mm. Lug width 18 mm. Manual wind inhouse Swiss made Omega calibre 625 movement. 42 Hour power reserve. Omega began applying the “Geneve” name to their dressier smaller watches in 1953 to honour. Records set by it’s 30mm movements at the Geneva Observatory. The line grew to represent more than 50% of Omega sales up until the line ceased production in 1979. A classic dress watch is understated, should not be too large, does not need a date function, and should be as thin as possible (In this case because of the manual movement). The rare and interesting dial finish is what sets this model apart, and would make an excellent addition to a collection.
