In Reiwa 6 (2024), at the renowned Shiwa Watch Store in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, an overhaul was performed on the watch. Dial and hands have been replaced with new ones. Main spring correction has been done. Oiling has been done. In Reiwa 6 (2024), on July 26th, the overhaul and full adjustment were completed. Daily rate: ± about 2 to 3 minutes (when placed flat). Manual winding works smoothly. This is a military-style Omega watch from the 1930s with a heavy design and a rare small seconds feature. The movement is the predecessor of the 30mm caliber, equipped with the Cal. 26.5 SOB T2 from the Cal. 26.5 series, a movement with a 2-position adjustment that began manufacturing in 1926. 26.5 movement was used in military watches, and all pilot watches at the time were equipped with this mechanism. Although it is a model from nearly 90 years ago, with a case diameter of 38.4mm (including the crown), it is a larger-scale model with the Cal. 26.5, still a watch that holds up well in modern times. The dial and hands of this watch have been replaced at a well-established watch store where I have been receiving overhauls for many years. They were replaced during the overhaul in Reiwa 6. The same set of dial and hands as this watch miraculously existed as spare parts, and they were replaced with a dead stock item wrapped in thin paper, resulting in an appearance that does not resemble a timepiece from nearly a century ago. Although the hands were from dead stock items, they had a patina appropriate for their age, so they were polished as much as possible, and new luminous paint was applied. Due to the rarity of the watch itself, I really want to keep it, but due to various circumstances, I have to let it go..
