1971 OMEGA SEAMASTER Mens Vintage Stainless Steel 42mm Watch – Rare Near NOS Big Yellow with Box & Tag. The Omega Reference 166.092 holds a special place in Omega’s storied history. Believed to be made only briefly in the early 1970’s, these watches earned their name because of their prominent yellow bezel and extra-large 42mm case diameter which really fills out the wrist. It exemplifies the bold and dynamic design aesthetics of the era, making it a sought-after collector’s item which tells its own story of its heritage. This “Big Yellow” presents in gorgeous near new-old-stock condition with lacquer and sticker on the back. It still has its original hang tag with matching serial number and original box. To the casual observer, it presents as essentially new-old-stock. The crown shows signs of previous polishing and the sides and clasp might have been previously touched up. The striking dial which has almost a meteorite effect type texturing is untouched and perfect mint with light and pleasing toning of the luminous. We have left it just as we acquired it. The movement has never been serviced since leaving the Omega factory. It continues to keep accurate time. Band: Signed Omega, ref. 1170, stainless steel, fits a wrist up to approx. 8 inches, adjustable, presents as mint condition. 1002, copper colored, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring.
