UK 2292 wristwatch made to the order of the Air Ministry of the British Goverment, for the Royal Air Force, during the Second World War, in full original very good condition from 1944. Light metal alloy – duraluminium case, very rare design with slightly cut lugs’ ends, snap bezel with acrylic crystal, snap stainless steel back outside engraved with military markings “6B/159 // 13163″, inside marked FOND/ ACIER INOXYDABLE // (triangular) Omega logo / FAB. SUISSE / SWISS MADE /// 2292 , both the bezel and the back close very tightly, original crown with a bit worn edges, witch makes winding a little difficult, but the originality is the most important here. Extra rare original metal dial, white, black minutes precise track, black Arabic numerals, signed “Omega”, very rare exposed, placed above “6” inscription “SWISS MADE”, fine blued steel hands with red central seconds. Manual winding Omega precise movement cal. 30T2SC, central second, high grade, marked OMEGA / SWISS // 15 JEWELS // (serial number) 99737xx (1944), lately cleaned and oiled, works correctly. Diameter excluding crown 32.7 mm, thickness 12 mm, length from top to bottom 40.2 mm, fitted with 18 mm hand made brown leather strap.
