The words mint and excellent are used all too frequently to describe watches in my humble opinion, but this one really is. I would not say mint but certainly one down, that is very good indeed. It dates to 1964 as the serial number tells us and it looks as though it has been used sparingly for high days and holy days only. There are a few traces of use but you will have to look hard to find them; I have tried hard to photograph the watch as best I can to show its beauty so please do have a look at the picture gallery. It actually looks even more stunning in real life. More detail: It is a rarely seen reference number 121.5400 Omega solid 9k yellow gold manual wind watch (gents or ladies) with the highly regarded manual wind 269 calibre movement which as you can see is very clean indeed, in fact it still looks new. Watch collectors and enthusiasts will know this is basically the famous 30T1/2 movement updated with flat instead of Breguet hairspring. The watch features a solid gold case and is Omega gold signed to the dial along with gold hands and the original Omega crown. You can see the hallmarks both on the lugs and also on the inside back case cover. The case itself is marked ALD which stands for Aaron Lufkin Denison. Denison were an English company who made high class cases for the very best Omega movements and are considered far better than Omega cases of the same era. (Although Denison himself immigrated from the USA). The hallmarks indicate 9k gold which is normal for English watches of this period and although less pure than 14k or 18k are harder wearing. So all in all this is a rarely seen reference number Omega solid gold watch cased by a fine English maker and is actually a large size for this era at 34mm (35.5mm with crown). It is all original and looks stunning on a brand new brown leather strap with gold colour Omega pin buckle (not gold) only worn once to ensure a secure, safe fitting.
