Produced in relatively small numbers and made exclusively for the German market this is the reference 145.0040 or Teutonic as it is often called. This example is the finished in Steel and gold plated with integral bracelet to match. The overall case size is just under 44 mm which gives this watch incredible wrist presence. The bead blasted stainless steel case is in exceptional condition with no blemishes to mention. One of the most amazing features of this watch is the nearly flawless gold bezel. The tachymeter engraving on these bezels is very light and fine which results in most being polished smooth over the years. The tachymeter scale on this watch is clear as new. The flat sapphire crystal has no scratches or flaws. Also present is the red dot providing evidence that the case has not been opened since new. This watch runs of the famous caliber 861 manual wind movement as found in the Speedmaster professional from 1969 onward. This watch winds smoothly and keeps great time. The integrated bracelet is in excellent condition other than some tarnishing of the gold center links. The bracelet will fit a 7 1/4 wrist. The clasp is flawless and is still covered by the original protective plastic! Box and papers not included.
