Stunning Vintage 1977 OMEGA Constellation Chronometer F300Hz in Full Working Order. A rare octagonal-cased Constellation measuring 37mm width, excl crown, in excellent condition with a genuine Omega vintage beads of rice steel bracelet ref:1173 with 158 end links. A rare octagonal cased Constellation that really stands out from the crowd and always catches the attention of any watch enthusiast – this is helped by the fact that it is attached to an Omega beads of rice bracelet that compliments this watch so well. Originally in 1977 this model may well have been supplied new on a black leather strap, but this vintage steel bracelet really does it some justice. It could be compared to the Rolex Datejust 1601 with white gold fluted bezel on a Jubilee bracelet from the same era – just a much funkier version! It has been polished at some stage in its life and on very close inspection it is possible to find some minor signs of wear, but overall this watch is in excellent condition for its age and still looks great on the wrist today. Please see the photos to appreciate how incredible this watch really is! It houses the iconic tuning fork movement, first developed by Bulova in the 1960s and adopted for use by Omega in the 1970s. These humming movements have stood the test of time and are still among the most accurate movements ever developed. The seconds hand sweeps round the dial so smoothly! This iteration of the tuning fork electronic movement is the Omega Calibre 1260 and the serial number dates this watch all the way to 1977. The octagonal case measures 37mm width, excl crown x 40mm length with will accomodate 18mm strap/bracelet. The bracelet is currently sized to fit a 7 1/2 wrist with an extra 10mm available by adjustment within the clasp. The watch is in full working order and a new Renata 344 battery has just been installed.
