Produced in the Second World War, this exceedingly rare and beautiful watch has many likable aspects. The royal 38mm sizing, its typical military characteristics, the black glossy dial and probably most of all, the watch is powered by the legendary 33.3 caliber. Offered at a price of 9.950 or your best offer. The black glossy dial shows a subtle patina cross acquired throughout its life of 80 years. Some minor spots that give character to this piece, please see pictures and macro shots. All 5 hands are the original white lacquered hands that originally came with the black dial 33.3 chronographs. The steel case measures a royal 38mm without crown. Original crown and stunning oval steel pushers. The case shows to be polished, not disturbing but good to know. The Caliber 33.3 movement (originally produced by Omega) is signed by Tissot just like the case back. The movement looks clean and works good keeping accurate time and a well functioning chronograph. For those who dont know why this dial bears a Tissot and Omega signature heres the simple yet interesting explanation; Both brands have always been different companies, despite multiple marriages between the families. After the crisis of 1929 the market for watches collapsed in Europe and the solution found by Omega and Tissot was to unite the capital in a single holding company SSIH: Societe Suisse pour lIndustrie Horlogere, but maintain separate companies Omega with medium high market and Tissot with medium market. The watch comes on a period correct unsigned vintage nato strap. Dimensions without crown: 38mm. Dimensions with crown: 40mm.
