Omega Constellation Mega Quartz 2.4 MHz 2400 Marine Chronometer Vintage 198.0082 Cal 1511. You have the chance to own an incredibly rare piece of horology history. The Mega Quartz 2400 is the most accurate non-thermocompensating watch ever made. And over 45 years later it still holds that title. It is still the only watch to hold the title of certified marine chronometer and was the first watch produced with a TSA (time second adjustment) to enable the hour to be changed independently of minutes and seconds along with a separate pusher for setting seconds. Thereby allowing extremely accurate time signal synchronisations. This watch is in exceptional condition with a serial number in the 34,000,000 range making it one of less than 800 pieces to have ever existed. It comes complete with the Marine Chronometer Certification from the University of Besançon where its accuracy was certified in 1975. Along with the certificate, is a data breakdown of the movement testing, showing how incredibly accurate it is, more accurate than even today’s watches.
