OMEGA 1958 Seamaster 300. Early refernce -03 with correct Broad Arrow Hour hand and stick centre sweep seconds. Whilst Historically the early Speedmasters and the early Railmasters from the 1950s get most of the vintage Omega attention, there is a strong and growing community of collectors that go after the early Seamaster divers from the 1950s, Perhaps a watch seeing the highest growth in recent years is the reference 2931 With no inclination of the watch market “slowing down” anytime soon and Omega being perhaps one of the most fiercely sought-after brands in this growing market. The Seamaster reference 2913 is a design classic in its own right. It features broad arrow hands and a very interesting bezel design. It is certainly a unique looking reference. In no small part, the collectibility of this watch has been highlighted if not heightened by the recent “heritage” releases from Omega amongst them, of course, the Railmaster and early Speedmaster. The Legendary and beautiful case of the Omega 1957Seamster 300. The Godfather, the granddaddy of all the later Seamsters and later planet ocean series watches and of course most recently and prominently the “heritage” trinity Seamatesr 300. The All original case sits at 39mm excluding crown 42.55mm inclusive Original Big Crown with early logo. 47.50mm lug tip to lug tip and 19mm lug spacing a chinky 14mm tall. Inner case perlee steel finish with makers mark HF: Huguenin Freres responsible for perhaps most of the early and most collectable of Omega watches. Ref 2913 – 3 : -3 Iteration with of course al correct and compliant features (where present and applicable). The early “first generation” iterations -1 -4 all are broad arrow hour hands with “stick” second a configuration shared by the early reference Railmasters and indeed Speedmaster that incorporate the vintage “Trinity” watches. References 5-7 with generally “Lolipop” seconds or laterly “Diamond” tipped and “thin arrow” hours hand. The Bezel & Crystal. But do indeed demand a serious premium in all original condition. The Crystal is from our very own stock of NOS crystals and is not a generic replacement but a crystal correct and purpose for this model. Armored Hestlite and signed with to centre. Powering the early Seamaster 300’s are of course the early 500 series movements widely regarded as perhaps the finest vintage automatic movements omega ever produced.
